The pearls come from a direct importer of pearls to the Polish market and are characterized by high luster, beautiful depth, and a delicate overtone. The pearls have a diameter of approximately 10 mm.

Pearls, renowned for their lustrous beauty, have a fascinating origin, being the only gemstones formed within a living organism. Historically, pearls were discovered by ancient peoples while foraging along the seashore, leading to their adoration in various cultures as symbols of purity and wealth. The history of pearl jewelry dates back thousands of years, with evidence of pearl adornments found in ancient civilizations like Rome and China, where they were a privilege of the elite. Natural pearls are formed when an irritant, such as a piece of sand, enters a mollusk, prompting the creature to secrete layers of nacre around it, eventually forming the pearl.

The traditional pearl necklace, a staple of classic elegance, has graced the necks of many prominent figures throughout history, signifying status and sophistication. Pearls are primarily sourced from oysters in both freshwater and saltwater environments, with notable pearl farms located in Japan, China, and the South Pacific. The introduction of cultured pearls in the early 20th century significantly changed the pearl industry, making these gems more accessible to a broader audience. Cultured pearls are created by manually inserting an irritant into a mollusk, a practice that has allowed for more consistent pearl production.

Pearls come in various shapes and sizes, with the round, lustrous ones being the most coveted. The rarity of perfectly round natural pearls makes them extremely valuable. Pearl jewelry is not just limited to necklaces; it encompasses a wide range of adornments like earrings, bracelets, and rings, each piece adding a touch of timeless elegance to any outfit. Pearls have also been crushed and used in cosmetics, medicines, and in paint formulations.

The color of pearls varies greatly, depending on the type of mollusk and the water where it lives. They can range from classic white to black, green, gold, and even pink. An interesting fact about pearls is that they require no cutting or polishing to reveal their beauty, emerging from the mollusk naturally lustrous. The largest pearl ever found, known as the Pearl of Lao Tzu, weighs an astonishing 14 pounds. Pearls continue to be a symbol of refinement and taste, with modern designers continually finding new and innovative ways to incorporate them into contemporary jewelry designs.
